World Mission
The aim of the World Mission Group is to encourage and enable the Church in this Diocese to exercise its common mission with the Worldwide Anglican Church. We encourage Christians in the Diocese to think beyond their parish boundaries and share in the richness and diversity of a global faith.
Our priorities:
- To maintain and strengthen our partnership with each of the Anglican Dioceses in Zambia. This includes sharing in all areas of work wherever possible, as well as developing individual parish links.
- To provide information and theological reflection on global development issues to parishes.
- To encourage parishes to address the unjust structures of the world and preserve the integrity of creation. We work in partnership with Mission, Aid and Development Agencies to do this, and encourage parishes to support the agencies and individuals working with them around the world.
- Raising awareness of the Millennium Development Goals and actions Christians can take, is a particular strand of our advocacy work.
