Changing Lives is all about reaching out and engaging with your local community. Good communications is essential to this and in helping parishes spread and express joy in the Gospel.
Parish magazines, news releases, weekly notice sheets, notice boards and parish websites are five key communications tools that churches are using to good effect.
We want to support you in this important element of your mission and outreach.
Parish magazines
The communications team collates and distributes a monthly mailing of snippets, news and information, including a personal message from our Bishop’s to editors on the 10th of every month. Sign up by emailing comms@bathwells.anglican.org.
If you haven’t discovered Parish Pump yet – what are you waiting for? It’s full of cartoons, snippets and articles to help you during the quieter months.

Creating or refreshing your website
Working with Church Edit, we offer free seminars on creating or updating your website, as well as top tips. We’ll advertise the next series in Connect. Outside these times, we’re happy to give guidance – just drop us a line to: comms@bathwells.anglican.org.
Web editors – why not sign up to our e-bulletin via the homepage? It’s a bi-weekly update of what’s new on the diocesan website and latest events. You may want to include links on your pages.
Stock.xchng at www.sxc.hu is a great website for free – yes completely free - images to liven up your pages. Just double check the standard restrictions and away you go!
Google calendar is another free tool that allows you to embed your church calendar into your website easily.
Try Flickr (more free tools!) to help you share and arrange photographs and display as slideshows.
Mission resources
Manna magazine goes out to parishes quarterly – consider how you might use this tool to communicate the Gospel and what it means to be Christian.
