Youth Pilgrimage 2012

 road

Wednesday 04 April 2012 -  Wells Catherdral to Glastonbury Tor

The Education Department will be leading a youth pilgrimage half day walk during the Easter holidays . The event is aimed at young people aged 10 to 25. We will be gathering at Wells Cathedral at 10.00 am. After a short reflection, we will journey the 7 miles to Glastonbury Tor, stopping at certain points to reflect on life, faith and God. At the end of our journey we will have a picnic lunch on top of the Tor looking out across Somerset (weather permitting).

We are looking for young people who are prepared to go on two journeys. The first will be a physical journey symbolising the physical challenge of pilgrimage and the second, a spiritual journey exploring life, faith and the significance of Christianity.

There will be no cost to join the walk, but walkers will need:

• Suitable clothes and footwear for walking (including a coat)
• A packed lunch and plenty of drinks
• Plasters or any personal medication (if required)
• Sun cream (if required)

Walkers will also need to make their own travel arrangements

If you are interested, please contact Tony Cook ph: 01749 685134

Youth groups or individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their youth leader/s or a guardian. Youth leaders will need to bring on the walk parental consent forms for all those under 18 (in case of emergencies).

For safeguarding and health and safety reasons, please can you let us know if you are joining the walk and how many in your group will be attending.
